The new season has now started . . . . . . . .
The first week of the new 12 week season started on Monday 9th January 2012 and will continue weekly with the final week being Monday 26th March 2012 and the End Of Season Tournament being held on Monday 2nd April 2012.
It has been decided that the "league" will be run PURELY as a qualification period to decide who plays in which Tournament at the end of the season.
A minimum of SIX weekly events need to be attended in order to qualify for the EOS Tournament and 9 weekly results will be taken as counting for your position.
If you only attend SIX weeks then to calculate a 9 week score position it has been decided that the fairest way is to calculate the AVERAGE weekly attendence add 1 (you) to that figure and work out your average win / loss ratio and apply that to the number of people who attended weekly and round DOWN.
IE if the average weekly attendence were 6 people then a player who had only attended less than the required 9 weeks (but at least 6 weeks in order to qualify in the first place) would be calculated thus :-
average of 6 attendees, + the player (who had been at least 6 times but not the required 9 times) = 7 players.
The player in question has a 50% OVERALL win / loss ratio.
7 players / 50% win/loss ratio = player would be placed 3.5, rounded down means they receive a 4th place for each week they didn't attend.
If a player had a 75% win/loss then the calculation (based on the same supposed figures) would be 6 players + 1 = 7 / 75% = 1.75 which means they would reeceive a 2nd place for each week not attended.
As with last "season" it has been agreed that awards will be given for :-
1 - the most 26s scored throughout the season (WE DO NOT COUNT ANY SCORED DURING THE EOS TOURNAMENT)
2 - the most 100+s scored throughout the season (WE DO NOT COUNT ANY SCORED DURING THE EOS TOURNAMENT)
3 - the highest checkout scored throughout the season (WE DO NOT COUNT ANY SCORED DURING THE EOS TOURNAMENT)
4 - Anyone who manages to score the maximum 180 throughout the season (WE DO NOT COUNT ANY SCORED DURING THE EOS TOURNAMENT)
The Class 1 & Class 2 trophies will be awarded based on who wins the Class 1 & Class 2 competitions in the EOS TOURNAMENT.
