11-A-Side Football Team:

In September '07 Elim Church Centre was approached about creating a 11-a-side football team! The plans and preparations have been made and we are currently looking to recruit more players.

 

As you will know the football season 07/08 has already started, this unfortunately means we can not play in the WMCFL league this year. However, plans are in place to play friendlies with teams in the league throughout the coming months ready for next season, where we hope to enter a team worthy of challenging for promotion!!!!

 

The West Midlands Christian Football League (WMCFL) has been going for 28 years and has its own website that provides: club homepages, league results, top goal scorers, as well as the fixtures, tables and cup standings, check out the full details on www.wmcfl.co.uk.

 

It is a well established league that play their matches on Saturday mornings at 10:30am. This a male league, so unfortunately females can't play in this league...but if you are interested in playing football, still get in contact and we may be able to put a female team together! The only other condition for the league is that you need to be over the age of 16 (when we regisister the team in Summer '08).

 

So if you can say yes to both of the following questions, there is nothing stopping you from joining in!!

Training:

If you are interested in joining our 11-a-side football team, please get in touch with Tim Davies A.S.A.P (details at the bottom of the page). Training takes place on a Thursday and a Saturday on Gibbins Road Park, in Selly Oak, (Click here for a map). We play on the grass area on the right of the arrow. Gibbins Road is near Sainsburys in Selly Oak. It is recommended that you bring shin pads and boots with you.

As there is a cost towards entering the league, buying our team football shirts etc there is a £1 charge for training sessions which goes into the teams account. No one is making any profit from this team, it is being created for the enjoyment of the game!
