Selly Oak Elim Pool League
The Selly oak Elim Pool League was set up in 2006 to act as a Social event which would, as it's main priority, raise funds for orphans in Uganda. The funds were sent via Pastor Joseph Serwadda of the Victory Christian Centre in Kampala and then distributed as food, clothing, etc. to the needy.
Since then the League's fund raising has benefited various other organisations and currently raised funds are going to the Acorn Children's Hospice which is a local charity caring for disadvantaged / handicapped children.

As of Saturday 28th March 2009, there have now been three League Seasons and five Knockout Tournaments as well as one Accumulator Cup Tournament. For details of the results from these click on the links to go to the various results pages.

OK Folks, AT LONG LAST it's back on again ! ! ! (hurray, whoops of joy, high pitched whistles, etc, etc, etc).
The Pool League has held three events this year and has been a quiet success with three new faces joining the "old hands".
Funds have again been raised and the BIG BREAKING NEWS is that we now have enough to finally get
THE TABLE RECLOTHED ! ! ! !
The latest league was also the closest run event of the year and was won by Trevor Parker (one of the new comers to the league) and on Monday 7th December we held a special "Doubles, Partner Swapping, Round Robin, Alternate Shots Tournament".
This event was won by Abdul and Tony Pash

The next event will be held on ....
We are now going to take a little break over Christmas and the New Year and the next event will (probably) be a League to be held from the middle of January.
Anyone interested in taking part will need to contact Steve Cleaver or Tony Pash but BE AWARE :- We have taken the decision that the field will be limited to 12 players. So it's first come first counted.
The cost will be £1.50 - £2 each per week. (Number of weeks to be determined by the number of entrants). Proceeds will continue to go to the Acorns Children's charity.
We managed to raise over £300 for Uganda through 2008 and we are just working out how much has been raised this year for the Acorns Trust.
